He sat by the window with a smile,
thinking of life and what he'd done.
All of his accomplishments,
his loving wife, and children all grown up.
He beamed at the beautiful blue sky,
the sound of the birds and the sun,
shined so bright; that it made him squint his eyes.
It was like he was seeing the world, for the very first time.
Suddenly, he felt no pain; he felt like he was young again;
the warmth that surrounded him, lulled him into sleep.
He dreamed of life, step by step... all of his life
in a single flash -- but he held onto memories,
as the rays of the sun carried him into a different world.
He sat by the window with an expression,
of glory, happiness, and pride.
He sat there solid stone like a statue,
A wonderful man who lived
a long, a happy life.
