Cruelty Befitting

Kill me ever so slowly,
A gift for all of my guilt

Give me a dozen to my heart,
From sword point to sword hilt

A nine inch through my spine,
One deep thrust full tilt

Craze me for my sorrow,
A fit and fortunate way for me to go

One syringe where ever you want,
Anything to stop the flow

I deserve any cruel fate,
Any agent you want to bestow

No one else can take my heartbeat,
Only with you I treat to life

So you only you can fill it's place,
Only with a needle or knife

These two are artifacts of person,
And befitting to end my strife

With you my heart is racing,
It should be easy to find

Only one more plunge,
To end my mortal grind

So take me eyes wide shut,
Our true love is blind.

Author notes

Only thing I could explain are my fascination with the Joker, and how he likes to be personal, and my reason for saying 'eyes wide shut' - like when you know whats coming, but you're welcoming it.

Whoa, this is quite the poem tom! although i think it's much deeper than a character. it tells of struggle within ones heart...because of another, and wanting to leave this world. world isnt so bad, not while im here anyway =) [please stay]...

This is my new favourite. It had a great structure of rhyme so it was interesting to read. I get the feeling you were inspired by something else along with this thought....
