She was content,
each sigh mingled with the silence
of a new day
beating down ever so gently;
watching meadowlarks
far away, splash one another;
She was content,
here she knew no airs,
nor cared the time of day;
this was her lake,
and all its memories
going over in her mind,
like the gentle laps
upon its shores,
