All Generalizations Are False

As the accordion wheezed,
The girl said her prayers.
She looked around,
Wondered what she was doing,
This new diet,
This new fad,
Was it a circle?

As the accordion wheezed,
Jim wondered,
When would it end?
The struggle to fight off,
Just one more pound?
Starve again,
Only to put on ten more?

As the accordion wheezed,
Their eyes met,
Through the thousands of beings,
Standing like trees.
She blinked,
He turned away.
They knew the reason,
They had come here this night.

Is the struggle to obtain the "perfect body" really what has to happen, or do people imagine that it should be and trick themselves into it?

Lovely piece, I get the first two stanzas and the last sounds like a powerful ending but I didn't get it. I'm slow, no worries.

Weirdly, I can't find the relevance of this poem to the line prompt (Yeah, still slow, lol) and in my rules, I only wanted 10 lines and I didn't want any profanity, erotica, abuse, adult content, etc in the entry.

No worries, didn't see the abuse part, though

Anyway, yes, lovely piece you got here, indeed ~

P.S. There is struggle in both. We should be proud on how He created us
