The soft snow drifts in, curling, with the bitter cold breeze
As the animals run and scatter to hide admist the trees
The night is growing dark as the yews spread wide their boughs
And the oaks and ashes whisper like softly spoken vows
A squirrel hurries homeward in the slowly dimming light
As the stars begin to twinkle on a lonely winters night
But streaking through the forest, the moonlight dances pale
And lights the glade with silver, like a pretty bridal veil
Then comes the stroke of midnight when all is hushed and white
And a visitor is calling soft, beneath the sad moonlight
She announces her arrival with the crunching of the snow
And a faint breathy whisper, to the night; her foot falls slow
She shakes her silver hair and stretches long her back
Her eyes deep blue and shining in the night that's almost black
Graceful then she dances in the snow beneath the moon
To the fairies playing mandolins, a melancholy tune
They sing her lullabyes as she nestles down to sleep
And promise through the night, their vigil for to keep
For they have loved her for so long and protect her from all harm
The golden horned unicorn protected by their charm

Unicorns are my favourite creatures. They are so beautiful. If I was your unicorn, I'd be gentle and kind. I'd listen and help. I'd bring you smiles and laughter. I'd be as magical a friend as I could be!

Once again you capture, alluringly,
the magic and the mystery of a myth. The imagery is incredibly beautiful and vivid, and you set the mood perfectly:
