My Partner

                                           I have a little partner
who goes everywhere I do
she's always happy to be there
and I'm glad to have her too

A walk down to the mailbox
to the market or the park
all and each the same to her
just a most delightful lark

I never have to ask her
she'll accompany gleefully,
any place I'm bound to go,
always most agreeably.

And, though she's getting slower
now the years have taken toll
her spirit as always is strong
and it's warming to my soul

My loyal little partner
always waiting by the door
my faithful, ever best friend
who I do so much adore.

I just came back from walking Krysten, my cocker spaniel and this poem popped into my head.

    Very sweet and true. Those wonderful dogs, what would we do without their enthusiastic optimism. Very cute and whimsical.

    I like this poem alot. Dogs are great companions. I have two neighbors who have moved up from New York City and Massachusetts. In the past three years they have stolen 4 dogs from my yard, removed their tags and given them to other people. I have one now that keeps them at bay. I am going to have her and her pups ears' tagged so they can be identified if stolen.

    You reminded me of the first dog they stole.

    Hi Ed, This poem strikes a chord with me I have owned three Cocker Spaniels and I share the same feelings also. I dearly miss them all. Why isn't there a picture of Krysten to go with the poem?

    That is indeed loyalty and companionship. Enjoy every moment you have with her, they will remain memories in your heart for lifetimes to come. Love the feeling this puts out.
