It's a sunny day outside
and I keep on smiling;
the sadness in my face all but hidden by
your
disappointment;
your
obsession.
With a glance you can
silence me
from telling them about the
needle
you keep close to me
always.
With a tear you can
assure them
that my strange disease is everything
that my well being is really something
to fight for.
With a smile you can
brighten my day
like the moon can cast a
silvery glow on my pale
sunken
face in the dark.
With a slide you can
keep me occupied and
show them my weakness
before
the dress reveals the scars
on my legs
and the short sleeve reveals the sores
on my arms
and the rain reveals the make-up
on my face.
It's a sunny day outside
and I keep on crying
to show you I'm sorry
to show them I'm really, really
dying
I'm
dying.
I'm
lying.

Interesting use of the prompts...the shadows, how we hide our emotions, or put on masks to hide them from others...I assume the lying, coincides with the landslide, the weakening of emotion and perhaps, even a bit of manipulation...I'm probably way off on this, lol. Thanks so much for your entry
