Once I told you I was nothing;
I'm as empty as can be,
how can I tell you something
of the way your life should be?
The eye with which we see the sky
sees sun, or clouds of rain;
and we will see with that same eye,
the center of the hurricane.
I'm as empty as can be,
how can I tell you something
of the way your life should be?
The eye with which we see the sky
sees sun, or clouds of rain;
and we will see with that same eye,
the center of the hurricane.
Author notes
If, by making an assumption, I make an "ass" out of "u" and "me", (assume - who hasn't heard that before??) then why in the world do we assume things about ourselves and take it as "gospel?" Beyond that, can we come to a place in life where we become unoffensive while NOT considering ourselves? Can we become beneficial to ourselves and the world around us by not considering "me?" Can we survive this world in that condition?

thank you for participating in this contest through a beautiful rhyming verse in response to the quote ... very fervent and intense, yet at the same time detached ... now, after lifetimes of looking WITH the eye, let's look FOR the eye (I) ... can the eye (I) see itself ?
