what pictures are created,
what schemes and dreams and fantasies
from this power of Being I make...
Yet when I turn attention
to Who it is that's seeing
I come to know the dreamer
and find myself awake!
Author notes
"When we look with the 'I'
We dream.
When we look for the 'I'
We awaken."

Can the eye see the eye... Can I know the Nothing I am from the things I see?
Prince Gautma looked and looked and looked...
And when he stopped, he saw.

aware of every thought, every word and every action
when you know yourself, you understand others
we have ages of layers, it seems it's neverending
I don't know if we can know the nothing but it is very familiar
well done
A pleasure to read
God bless you my friend...

How wondrous a Silver!
Your words reflected wisdom's smile. Thank you.

I love the way your title already gives us a clue about the effort of "looking" outwards - and the effortless "seeing" inwards that happens when the "looker" disappears ...
a faithful, powerful, wise response to the prompt by one who obviously has overcome the fear of facing the source of "I", the nothingness that seems so terrifying for the ego-mind fighting for survival ... yet that reveals its real face of blissfulness by the grace of surrender ...
thank you ...
maa

My humble thanks....
.... for the honor of the prize and the opportunity to explore ever deeper along the pathless path of Being...

Ah
This is the question that so few ask. We see and think we see, but who is it who sees? I like your last stanza, because it is a succinct summary of years of searching ending in failure.
Temporary failure.
I can't say I am there yet, perhaps I must stop.

"I" see "You"!
Thanks Margaret. My first response to maa's prompt was what is expressed in the last stanza... the space between "looking" and "seeing". The Truth is so close we often look right past it. Who knows when a guy in a gorilla suit will show up!?
Be ever blessed and bright,
Rahad
