Looking from the outside in
Silently watching myself die
Knowing what's going on within
I understand when I curl up and cry.
I see the mistakes, I see the faults
I see what the world is blind to
I see the secrets inside my locked vaults
I watch as I find out what I knew.
I watch as my soul starts to empty
Wondering why no one cares
But I am blind to those who surround me
I don't even know that they're there.
Their kind words are lost on deaf ears
I watch as I become oblivious to good
All I know is the endless, bitter tears
I'm withering, never being the best that I could.
Standing outside my grimy window
I see so much more than when inside
Because sometimes you need to know
Who you seem to be on the outside.
