Grab my hands and yank me back
I'm losing my grasp on reality
Falling quickly into a world
That no one else is able to see
A chorus of voices are a constant
Roaring in the back of my head
They order me to self destruct
And I mindlessly slice my arm
With slashes of short sharp cuts
Walking up and down the street
I try to get lost in the crowd
But trying to pretend I'm normal
Is a herculean effort when I can't
Manage to concentrate or even
Discern what's real and what's not
Even my thoughts make no sense
They've been put through a blender
And are all chopped up in fragments
The madness has an alluring pull
I want to just let go and give in
Don't let me fall into this pit
Of fantasy and hallucinations
Grab my hands and yank me back
I'm losing my grasp on realtiy
Falling quickly into a world
That no one else is able to see

I think it elaborates on the original thoughts more, but it's still very similar to it. I didn't see any growth, rather maybe an edit or something. Nonetheless, it's still a great piece. Thanks for entering

This poem really hits the nail on the head for me.. I live through this myself. I wish you the best. This poem is great.
