I AM

the
sum
parts
of my present and future life ~
therefore,
I accept responsibility for my decisions.

never
the less,
this is my previous life.

Author notes

Responsibility for our choices and subsequent paths are more complex that one might think.

    Exceptional

This piece is written with few words but more meaning to it then plenty other poems I have read on the site... So many of us can relate to such a piece.

    Well penned

    Zia,

I am. The picture in itself says so much. your words add to the pictures dialogue and create a very poingnant point. We are all indeed responsible for the decisions we make, unless of course, someone makes them for you when you have no choice but to obey. I agree totally with your authors notes. Are peoples choices sometimes paths that they are unable to loosen themselves from? This write of yours can open up many avenues of thought and gets one thinking. Well done.

Sometimes that past life tends to cling like ivy vines growing against a brick building. We have to prune and let go. I love how you brought these words full circle. Excellent!

I love the simplicity of it, though it takes a while to digest the complex meaning. I found it nice that it seemed that you were just letting out your thoughts, rather than focus on the use of pretty words.

    Really lovely

Sometimes the sum is as "queer as a clockwork orange", cold steel in movement numb to the touch.

    So true

Life takes us where it will, our mind controls where we end up, and it will be because of the choices we have made. Another short but great write.
