A lady of the leisure class expressed her soul's desire at last -
Bonheur du Jour, it's time for me to have a desk of luxury
and delicate design, not this Bureau of Georgian walnut, no,
it does not suit me; forsooth! Lo, its leathered fall permits me not
a proper exploration's jot upon the page by feathered quill;
its bulky size makes Lady ill. Behold, should noble husband see
to it he can afford such, she deserves a ladies writing desk
to keep her legs out of a mess and hidden well below a pair
that tapers like her own, compare.

Well Done!
congrats on a well deserved award.

This is very lavish and fun and I can dig that. I like the way it rolls like a black and white movie in my head. It has an irresistible quality about it that I can’t quite put a finger on but it lingers with me.

This was breathtaking, it was as if it was taken right out of the past and into the pressence. I love how you have written this!
Thank you so much for taking the time to enter and the best of luck

I found myself hoping the lady got her 'desired' writing desk, and lived long enough to enjoy it! Marvelous write!

First off, I have to say I really love everything about this poem. Even the picture and background fit with it stunningly. I'm not a fan of rhyme but you pulled it off well. I actually really liked it in your piece, you used that skill very well.

This is one of the best short(ish) poems I've read for some time. Your skill as a wordsmith is demonstrated beautifully in this work. Excellent!
