In a crowded room
I see your beautiful smile
shining through the misty haze
the smoke from a stranger's cigar
and the endless movement all around
you sit there with a glass
cold champagne on the rocks
talking to the bartender
as he mixes up another drink
the crowd is restless around you
I stand against a pillar
watching your emerald eyes
you search intently around the room
hoping to find some good conversation
you finally look over to my side

I smile as I move in to say hello
extending my hand to meet yours

I take it and lead you to the dancefloor
with only a few couples dancing
we practically have it all to ourselves

your head upon my chest
as you listen to my beating heart
I look down upon you as you whisper
softly in my ear, "I love you very much"
I lean over and kiss your little lips and say
"I love you more than you could ever know"
I watch as your eyes slowly begin to tear
I pick you up and cradle you next to my heart
then spin you around in my arms
you smile so sweetly at me and touch my face
I take a deep breath and sigh
tears begin to cascade down my face
knowing that after all of these years
I have finally found you
you're finally home again
