Stuffed full of memories
That strain the worn
Brown stitching, frayed
At every edge
The old suitcase from home
Takes the lace and nylon
The metal clasps click
With a slight breath of relief
Her past locked
Safely away
No more tricks to play
She twirled around the shabby room
So light her feet made no sound
Upon the bare wooden floor
The door swings behind her
The rough leather handle chafes
A burden soon discarded
On the turn of the road
