birdsong from an orange coloured sky

uniform need
pressed into khaki
colours strings
pulled by those
supposedly
at the top
of an assembly

how soundly
do the keepers
of secrets sleep
in their shared beds
of cabinets

no scream echoes
longer than silence
but bones
never lose their accents
defying distillation

death has legs
that cannot be bandaged
to look pretty
for any party

protest-ants dance
to unorchestrated beat
and bang of drum

at the edge
of an orange horizon

    death has legs
    that cannot be bandaged
    to look pretty

Deeply intriguing with more than a touch of brilliance to the startling imagery filling up this delicious poetic treat. I found this both mysterious yet bold, unhurried yet savage. It really captured my interest and the only thing I regret is that it ended. lol

    Lovely work.

what a fantastic write-eloquent and sharp prose expressing big dark thoughts here-I like the fragility of this piece, it is a wonderful contrast with the darkness explored, and lends this poem a haunting feel. Great stuff.

    Lovely

    Hi mum
Very interesting the idea of protesting-ants makes me think of our human condition. All black legs in motion running to some sort of conclusion. "There be method to his madness".

There you go again with your beautiful musical phrasing . . . Even when you are addressing subject matter that is dark and forboding, you mind and pen sing in perfect diction . . . well done, as usual Yvette . . .
