Waiting

painting by Paul John Ballard. The Beauty of the Female.

She waits and dreams, she feels his roving lips
Her body arched against imagined touch
She gasps and feels his questing fingertips
The close inspection that she wants so much

Two weeks to wait before she feels for real
Until his leave when love can be fulfilled
When hands and lips can seal the final deal
The contents of her heart will then be spilled

And far away he waits and sees within
A vision of his love inside a dream
Against his lips he's sure he feels her skin
The texture of the finest Devon cream

Two lovers torn apart have thoughts to share
Each feel the others presence in the air

The quality of love is compounded by separation. Nicely done. Congrats on the gold.

Beautiful. Filled with sincerity, and longing and yearning.
Nice placement of the Devon cream.
Soft and sensuous and passion, passion, passion. . .
Two whole weeks? She's going to spontaneously combust if she has to wait that long.
    Okay, bad joke.
Wonderful poem, full of perfect imagery.
    Blessings and much love,
    jin
