the darkness is surrounding me
as i lie in bed waiting to die
nothing but withering pain
as i think about him and her
no lightness
as i try to imagine life without him
agonizing about what went wrong
as the time passes slowly
wallowing in self-pity
as he is having fun
darkness swallows me whole
there is nothing left to hold on to
but a girl in deep and utter despair
