Chorus:
Faces without a name.
People know they are there.
Faces without a name.
Just wanting someone to care.
Verse:
They feel like they don't
Matter in the least.
They feel like every move they make
Makes them into a bigger beast.
They feel like they should run away
From the never-ending feast
On their hopes and dreams that
Occur without cease.
(Chorus)
Verse:
They don't matter,
No one should care.
After all, the ones that are
Supposed to love them aren't even there.
What can they expect from the
World that is so unjust and unfair.
They pretend not to notice the way
They don't matter but they notice, and pretending only begins to tear.
Their hearts and souls in two.
It just rips and pulls and tears while they pretend not to care.
(Chorus)
Verse:
Living day-by-day
They know that hope exists
If they could only see it in action,
But why hope for the hopeless?
Everyday is just another reminder of their past.
Every chance they take gets them further into that mess;
Where they hoped never to be, don't make the same mistakes
Don't make your life value so much less.
(Chorus)
Verse:
There's not a happy ending to this story,
That's not what you wanted to hear
But as long as there's still hope somewhere,
Even if it's just someone who decides not to jeer
Someone who cares enough
Just to stay near.
As long as there's hope for them,
They will eventually have the courage to take the wheel and steer.
(Chorus)
These faces gave a name.
That's what people need to know.
Faces with a name,
Just show them some hope.
Faces without a name.
People know they are there.
Faces without a name.
Just wanting someone to care.

alright soooo... as you can see my songs suck. this is probably the best i can do. this was inspired by my band director giving us a contest to create a song about children of drug addicts... its not exactly about children of drug addicts.. just hopeless people in general i guess
Please tell me what you think

For one it does not suck. I understanf it was just about people who are hopeless, and every day you can pick out people like this on any given street or store or what have you. I like the truthfulness and the message of your song, there is hope, my fav. line is "Living day-by-day
They know that hope exists
If they could only see it in action,
But why hope for the hopeless?"
I wouldn't change a thing, it has a rawness that works for it.
