in sunshine
all my precious diamonds
turn to stones
but I am happy
.

This is just amazing, I love the beauty and hope this piece holds, it is the sort of thing I was hoping people would see. best to you in the contest

It is the realisation and ..of course the changes are obvious while realising the materials of life..well said ..I love this wonderful poetry...

In poetry
my heavy wingless body
learns to fly
and I am happy

Your poem tickles me with the half-memory of a story about rubies - but this is better. Children make playthings of everything, toys are an industry for adults. You take me back to early memories, when I played with leaves in the yard. Where is the picture from?

Well done...and so true...children are so happy with the smallest things, to bad we do not keep that insight as we grow older...lovely write and meaning...
best to you, sis
