Implanted humbleness

anger brings quickness
of mouth, an un-hearing ear;

there is little happiness
when sound fades, and tongue
tastes rejected blessings -

ears that listen,
a mouth that is slow, allows
the heart to contain its love
free of moral filth;

humbleness already there,
but lost in the response
of defiled mind

to zinc mouth and ear,
carried through mind, soul
and spirit to destination

Author notes

James 1: 19-25
19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 because our anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. 21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Those who listen to the word but do not do what it says are like people who look at their faces in a mirror 24 and, after looking at themselves, go away and immediately forget what they look like. 25 But those who look intently into the perfect law that gives freedom and continue in itnot forgetting what they have heard but doing itthey will be blessed in what they do.

    Beautiful truths ...

    that you constantly pour out as reminders for us ... How can we ever let anger and moral filth become the norm, when we have our Lord as our norm?

    You touch me every time I read your work, holding up the mirror for me to truly see my face, and to RECTIFY the wrongs. Thank you, Frans, for being such a precious friend in Christ.

    Love
    Myra

    this reeks of truth

    what a thought provoking write on a topic no one likes to admit to.. the tongue weighs so little, yet so few can hold it!.. with the depth of this write it's easy for one to be enveloped in the lines and get a different something out of it on each read .. i gave you two reads myself ...

    great food for thought

    Wonderful and Uplifting

    You words are so true my friend. We should stop and think before we speak and be godly and righteous in all our words each day. I see the filth of some of our young and even the old and wonder what is to become of this world.
    As always your words are full of God's wisdom and so uplifting. Blessings to you.

    Sandy
