Old, Painful Spoken Truths

Andrea always ached.
Beneath brittle bones, bitterness
Corroded. Cascading, caustic coolness
Drowned, deadening, disconnecting.
Everyone ended eventually, even – especially -
Free, fun-loving, friendly folks.
Genuine gentleness, greatness, grated. God
Hadn’t helped her husband. He’d been
Incredible – immensely idealistic, imaginative,
Joyous, just. James
Kindled kindness, kept
Laughing loudly, loving life. Later,
Moans muffled more merry murmurs
Nearly nightly. Nothing
Offered optimism. Only
Prayer provided possibilities.
Quiet, quavering quandaries,
Requests repeated relentlessly.
”Soulmates,” she said, “should succumb
To time together. Take
Us under undivided.” Unfortunately,
Vitality vacated, vaporized, vanished.
Whole worlds wailed, wept. Water went
Xerotic. Xysters
Yanked yearly, yenning yonder
Zenith. “Zymotic zoolith”,
Angela always adds -
Brittle bones, barely breathing,
Counting coronary contractions,
Dearly desiring death.

Nice! I like this a lot. It all ties together into a story, with is not easy to do in this sort of things.

My congratulations on a job well done!
