You, my friend, my hero
who took me from the horror
of an agonising death
as helplessly I waited
for salvation,
will never be forgotten.
Our bond as strong
as the arms that held me,
battling through fire and
choking smoke.
Standing in safety,
watching and waiting
for your return,
from that hellish furnace,
I wanted only this;
to offer my eternal love
and thank you with a kiss.

Tears in my eyes...
...as I read this. Such a profoundly touching photo prompt, and the words you have chosen admirably suit the moment. And what a moment, hey!
Well deserved Bronze trophy, dear friend. Keep 'em rolling out!
