Lurking

Shadows dance across the darkened room

Like bats flittering against the wall

As I wonder toward the illuminated doorway

I think of invisible creatures lurking behind me

I look

Nothing is there

I keep walking

Shadows are creeping along my skin

Making my heart slam against my ribs

I reach the door

And grab the cold knob

I twist and pull

And the shadows slink away

Into the corners that they came from

As the light envelops me

yeah shadows don't do well in the light. Not a bad write at all. Thanks for sharing this
