Graciously accepted.

Dark invitation graciously accepted;

we are pleased to attend and feast,

Hallows Eve Grand Ball.

My woven children

lust and thirst

to celebrate fresh blood.

Widows Queen

of strangling dreams

signals terrors web.

NO costume needed.

Silent and polite,

we snack on flesh

pale  and innocently

denied.

Please leave your windows open,

so we may stretch and sprawl.

Casting silken beauty

to honor darkness fall.

A limousine of grandeur

stark-ly disguised.

Eager, to sip and gnaw

upon your succulent  of guests.

Madam, your decorators have arrived.

Whoa, nice! Madam is humbly pleased that the decorators arrived, lol.
I really like this poem. It's as dark as it can be.. almost morbid. I do have to say that the spiders kinda freaked me out as I'm completely scared of those creatures, lol.
The plot of the poem was interesting and very original.

    Thanks for entering my contest!
    Blessings,
    ~Child of the Moon

WOW. Now that's... dark as a really dark thing, and you made it work very well. I love how the title leaves you not knowing what to expect, and then you just start so strong. This is an excellent work!

I absolutly love this poem, the imagery used was fantastic!

one question -- is the word 'NO' in the first stanza suppose to be capitilized?

and, heh, i love having spiders in my room, bugs are really bothersome =D

    good luck in the contest!!

HELP! I'm scared of spiders, get them away from me! But shhhhhhhh, don't tell anyone, there are those who might, you know, use that against me...snakes, now snakes, they are ok though, we don't mind them!

Well penned, oh Flaming One, I'm sure you will have a lot of attendees at your ball.

    Delightfully Macabre

One banquet I wouldn't miss. The linguistics in your darkened stew set my heart to tingle refreshed by you.
