Could Be You

Once so active once so strong,
Frozen hands in tears what went wrong.
Age shows in dimming eyes,
Tiredness covered up by protocol lies.

Dressed in fancy clothes going somewhere,
Not all bad their are some that do care.
Gods word with a smile we knock,
My future we hear the Shepperd of the flock.

A ministry that's meant to bless a diversed past,
Growing love in our hearts that will last.
Appreciative eyes over images of Tess and Gem,
Worn pink jumpers with faded hem.

Drawing paper  and pens will be needed next time,
At 55 years of age not knowing the day and we whine

See you all next week time looking bleak,
For us maybe or Gods time for the weak.

Sun rises and sets day after day,
Oh sweet Jesus my God have mercy we pray.
Breakfast has one less,
From her family the nurse has a mess.

My heart hears well done good and faithful servant.

Please tell me what you think

Hey, great to see a new poem by you. It's been awhile since I've read a poem of yours.

This poem seemed to have a sentimental feeling to it, like looking back on memories of the past. I think sometimes we may not appreciate the impact people have on our lives until they pass on. It's like if only we had said what we wanted to say when we had the chance, you know. Anyway, wonderful write. Hope you keep writing in the future.
