Waking up in the dark
The air filled with the fresh scent of morning
My heart racing uncontrollably
My breath showing against the chill of the darkness
Legs swollen with stains of purple
The passionate beating has taken place again
Bruises covering my legs
My fists raw from the swinging I’ve done in the night
Scratches from my nails leave small indentions
Aching, my legs beg for me to twitch
My hand lies under my head
Numb with the pain
Tingling with the force of the blows
Screams echo through my ears
And my tears drown out my sobs for help
Wanting nothing but the comfort of her arms
And feeling nothing but the chill of morning
Wrap its fingers around my neck and squeeze
Choking the heat from me
Lining my body with a layer of ice
All will calm as I lay on my back
Hiding deep within the covers again
And losing the consciousness to the cold
Letting the shadow shove away my light
Until I fall into a sweet slumber
My simulated death has begun again
