You might think
I'm just a cute Kinkajou
But believe me human
I'll take a bite out of you.
They say I'm a part
Of the raccoon family
But those big fatties
Are dumb compared to me.
Ya, I'm the genius
With the prehensile tail
I can hang from a limb
and still catch myself a meal
I sleep during the day
and creep about at night
I got what they call
Good vision at night
Some people caught me
As I slept in a tree
They thought they could make
A good pet out of me.
Soon they realized
This they couldn't do
So gave me to a blond
They Called Paloszoo!
Now I am happy
as you can see
Eating an apple
Up high in a tree.

I also forgot to add that I'm honored you've chosen to enter my contest. It means a lot to me. Thank you!

What a cheery piece! I can just picture you scampering up a tree and munching away! Well wordcrafted! It brought a smile to me.

This is a great poem. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it from beginning to end. Personally, since I was a small kid, I always wanted to have an armadillo.

Thank you Kim,
I was going to open a children's zoo on some property I had out here on the RI and Mass line.. During the time I was going for the permits I started collecting exotic animals.. I had a kinkajuo, raccon, and a 10 ft boa, in the house. Along with deposits on an old lion and a chimp. Alas I didn't get the permit because the property wasn't large enough. So had to give them up to Southwick Wild Animal farm. I did get a life time pass for them though...
What you are doing for the promotion and protection of these critters is a wonderful thing.
If I was a lost little critter, or big one, I can't think of a better place to be than with someone who understood me and cared for my well being.. -
Very clever. I love this. Do you really want to be my kinkajou? I already have 6 real ones. Dontcha wanna be a human?
