In a city of disposable lives
my lady friend watches sunset
of fire gone gray, through an
upended bottle. Bureaucrat
parade through shelter where
homeless gather, leave promises
of better life. Their pockets
bulging with budget money for
poverty food program and housing,
Condos the unclaimed souls will
never own. Money mongers hold a stamp
of rubber heat the power company
provide as profit sharing.
Yesterday's girl lie hidden
in cold canyon. Her smile enchants me
sitting in the corner next to the man
with an elephant head. She cast a
breath of non-chanalance and unfolds
a bag of memories, passing them from
hand to hand. She sighs, because these
are silent question... no one asks.
Her last possession is the monkey
on her back while she brings spiders
that weave web for her mind.

Poignant Words!!!!
Well my friend, you have captured the sadness of this picture prompt and of our society with these stark and powerful word. One only need to look around any small town or large city to see what your words convey. This was one of your best. So deserves a trophy. Stunning imagery.
You take care.
Bless You,
