Two Dollars What A Shame

Its 1am the door bell rings,
wakes me like a storm,
I rush to the door with fear,
As who could this be?
I yelled out "who is it"?
A mans voice said, It's me
I knew the voice please open the door,
Its very late, what do you want?
I need help I'm in great pain.
I opened the door to see him
Standing all covered in blood.
Oh my... what has happened?
I was walking home and three guys jumped me
took my wallet
I let him in.  Sat him down
I went to get him a wet cloth and the phone.
He had teeth missing, cuts more than I could bandage.
I said I'll take you to the hospital but first call the law
He did and they said they would meet him at the hospital
I asked him how much money they got with the wallet,
He said Two Dollars...

    Sad story

A poem in story form, well penned. Yes there are people out there like the one in your story, willing to do whatever it takes to rob someone of everything they've got. Most times it ain't worth it ( is there ever a time when it is worth it? ) but still they do it, just to get that fix, that thrill, never stopping to think about their actions on an unsuspecting victim.

A terrible story for sure, just a tragedy that it has to be this way.

A STORY SAD BUT OFTEN TRUE!

It seems today people don't stop and think of how much it is worth only to do it and take what they can.
