Goodbye, Yellow Brick Road!

The emerald city-
In ruin lies
The old magician-
Though cunning he was
Could not escape Wicked Witch's eyes
Dear Glenda..forced to surrender beloved Oz.

Dorothy failed!
Toto died
Tin man and Scarecrow-
Torn down
Lion, ferocious and brave-
became a pussy cat as he cried
Under Wicked Witch's gown

The monkeys-
Overran the palace
The beauty stripped away
With definitive malice
At last-
Wicked Witch had her day

The munchkins-
Enslaved!
Happiness was forfeit
gone away
Fun and smiles
forcefully waived
Dancing forever-
Wicked Witch's twisted ballet

Most horrifying
A sight that will forever stick
Wicked Witch's cackle as yellow and red bricks explode
From a simple-
Hand flick
Wicked Witch ran through Oz cackling
"Goodbye Yellow Brick Road!"

Author notes

The darker side of fairy tales: option 2 OZ. Again, I can't pull up the pics at work, but this is what I imagine. 2nd entry. Couldn't resist. MY FAVORITE FAIRY TALE EVER!

This was awesome! I thought that this is what should be shown on tv instead of the original version. It's just, too happy ;p Lovely work! Keep it up!

    Bravo!!

I love this! This was very well done. I love how the Witch wins! I always did love movies where the bad guy wins, so long as its not cheesy. And this dear one, is not cheesy at all! And for not seeing the pic, it went very well with it. Especially the part about the Lion crying! Ha! I love it! Great work.

Feel free, when you get home and can look at the pics, to do any needed editing to either of your poems. This goes for anyone, but since I know some people work and can't see the pics, it applies especially to those people.
