You were born in a spill
of tradition formed
from liquid Truth
issued, passed on
back from centuries,
then spread thin
in the half life
within a world of separation.
Knowing a heart
so much grander than this
turns us yearning
hungry with ache.
A reminder ever present
when remembered
all containing
yet the mystery of being
let loose
and ever be seeking home.
Don't try to build
on these sandy shores
muddy mires or urban scrawl
keep company with that place
inside, you seek
which remains
as always was
ever yearning for you to meet there.

What a lucky friend, this is stunning.
"then spread thin
in the half life
within a world of separation."
I love that stanza. Wow.
One of my favorite of yours.

i never read your poems just once. i go back and reread them, unraveling the beautiful ribbons that hold your thoughts together until i have my own interpretation of what you are saying. it is always a life lesson in one way or another...love, lane

Deeps thoughts. If only we could keep to that place within ourselves but unfortunataly we sometimes have to come up for air, Ros

Thank God 'that place' is always there, as what it is and doesn't depend on what we do or don't think or remember about it. For me, I'd say it's where all the 'air' is before it's divided into particularities and substituted for less.
Thank you Ros

It is a constant craving, isn't it?
"Knowing of a heart
so much grander than this
turns us yearning
hungry with an ache."
I never could quite put that into words. Thank you. Seriously.
