Delineated by boundaries not of my making,
fractured mirrored image, a bit out of skew.
The reflected pathways, there for the taking,
passing all hurdles, on the inside we grew.
Some were dead ends, we backtrack for awhile,
once to where we started, we forge ahead.
Crushing each obstacle in our own style,
changing things eternally each step we tread.
Test every boundary, break free of the mould,
follow your heart, not always what you're told.

Bravo, you penned it very well. For a well-known lesson that everyone should still know, you made it sound spectacular, making the reader believe in herself/himself.
It's as if I read this poem of yours like it was a lesson, you know?
There's not much to say, all the lines are my favorite

Superb insight, foresight and backsight of how many of us live when we are treading this treadmill called life. Reviewing and then setting our sights on the future. Life if hard. You have perfectly found the right words to describe and convey the message.
