The word "No" swirls and twirls
And when she's going to speak it
Her voice becomes mute.
So the monster begins to destroy
Her confidence - shattered flower,
Broken promises; ruined dreams.
No cat's meow, not the one in her dreams.
This monster values the beautifully mute.
It praises the toy it will soon destroy.
Like petals crawling away from a flower,
She curls into her swirls and twirls-
Wondering if she'll ever speak it.
"Just speak it" she whispers "Just speak it!"
But climbing through crumpled dreams
Will not help the beautifully mute,
Because of tasteless hands that destroy.
The word "No" swirls and twirls -
Waiting to bloom - just like a flower!
And as the monster tramples the flower,
She curls into her swirls and twirls
Waiting til she's reading to speak it.
Broken promises; ruined dreams
And a precious flower - who could destroy?
None but a monster who loves the beautifully mute.
She doesn't want to be mute;
But like petals crawling away from a flower,
She curls into her swirls and twirls...
"NO!" - a sudden burst, she speaks it.
But it's too late - her dreams
Are now in the pile labeled "Destroy!"
The monster has come to destroy -
Oh, how he liked her better as a mute.
"Almost done" - he tramples the flower.
Was it a silly idea to speak it?
Broke promises; ruined dreams -
She curls into her swirls and twirls.
