Where's Waldo?

Sitting by the apple tree
where you said you'll wait for me.
A day, a month, a year went by
the days turned cold
and the nights went grey
is this what you promised me?

The apples ripen
they fall off trees
and still I sit there
I'll wait for you.

The air thins out
the raindrops fall.
They freeze into the crystals
of my saline filled tears.

My sweater covered in snow-caped tears
lies on the chilly surface
of new green growth.
Sitting next to rotten apples
of a buster brown and crushing colors.

Buds grow in
then blooming flowers
of cherry blossoms with berry scents.
It's the only thing that reminds me
of the sticky smell of your chewing gum lips.

The cool crisp air
turns to summer bliss.
It chokes the air of floral scents
and fills our noses of apple candy sweets and sweat.

Once again the apples have ripen
a whole year has gone and past by.
And yet I stayed waiting
waiting for you.

So when I finally risen
and walked away from that fallen fruit tree.
You reappeared from no where
as though you appeared from thin air.

You gave me a sly smile
and I wink with your eye.

You said,"Why did you sit here for so long?"

"What were you waiting for?
What took you so long?
I was waiting and waiting
and hiding and hiding.
I told you to wait for me by the apple tree
Yet you never came to look for me."

Author notes

Where's Waldo is like 'I Spy' for human beings...it's a little guy with huge specs and a red & white striped hat and sweater set. He's adorable.

As for the piece it's inspired by the seasons. Look at the set up of the poem: fall/winter/spring/summer.

It's inspired by something or someone you love, but can't find. (That's where the Waldo title comes in)

I wanted this to go from a serious piece, to a humorous piece. I am trying to change it up people.

I also need a little help with maybe a better/funnier ending.

Thanks

Any advice would be lovely?
