Did you see the red of fire, the flames atop the trees
The lust within all mans desires that keeps him on his knees
Did you see the gold of honor, the work it took to fail
The price it takes to free a man, the price you pay for bail
Did you see the orange of greed, the social death of mortal men
While some can roam the streets in need, others spend in sin
Did you see the green of peace, the darkest shades of jealousy
"I want what I want and what I need," and while we can let's save the trees
Did you see the blue of tears, the color the sky is fading from
The wars dragging on for years, the smoke hiding the sun
Did you see the purple crowns, preaching that a change is due
Throwing wool on all the eyes, on people just like me and you
Did you see the black of death, the darkness of the night
Did you see the hope of people, did you see the white

the title is clever, I would like to have seen you write about yellow (a color associated with cowards) instead of gold, but gold works as well
