Blood greased cast iron skillet
Please don’t tell me I’m crazy
I get twitchy around that verb
And I have Salmonella to blame
That’s all its good for, I realize
As I step over the pile of human
To hang the pan back in its place
Cooked white rice lassos the air
Teeth marks from erratic gnawing
The chopsticks twiddle and bob
Menacingly
Sorry my little swimming delicacies
Looks like you’ll have to soak another day
Treading curiously
Soy sauce in the fish tanks
Bubbles in question
As the nori is pressed
And the wasabi applied
Lavender smeared
Lips pursed in desire
For the sashimi, for the sushi
Or maybe
Just because I like it raw
Careful poke to prod
Picked is a fatty piece
Chinou I believe is the word
To be rolled into ecstasy
Served and garnished
In unrequited peccadillo
Of course
I’m not one to be modest
Nor am I one for introductions
My name is Ginger

amazing take on both prompts. japanese cuisine is one of my favorites. thank you for sharing and good luck.

The delights of sushi and the acrobatics of chop sticks. I was taught to put the bowl to chin and shovel in.
Then again the finely sliced shavings of Ginger make it tangy. Enjoyed the repast may every meal be eaten like it is the last.
Peace,
Tom B.
