Blood ties

Roped by love I
follow you down the rabbit hole.
For the blood ties I
swallow little swigs of cyanide,
your sister in dysfunction.

I keep thinking things will change,
that your wide cabbage patch eyes
will resist the spindle.
But familiarity has sewn them shut.

For the blood ties I
swallow little swigs of cyanide,
I'm sorry for the vomit.

Author notes

Family...I've followed one of mine down into the rabbit hole, and into many fox holes, maybe there comes a time to divorce family members.

"little swigs of cyanide" ...I can identify with that...little deaths each time they drag us with them.

Learning to keep our distance in other peoples problems is a hard lesson. No matter how well meaning we are, when puxh comes to shove, we find ourselves to be the culprits instead of the saviors we intended.

Your poetry seems down to earth in it's straightforwardness, at least so far that I've read... and ver well versed.

I don't have anything constructive to say. I never do I either like or I don't. (I like). It's always the way; when we try to break up a fight we're punched by all and attract pointed fingers for being the instigator. --- Better to watch and cheer, like the other yobbo's.
