There was this woman I that loved,
I believe she came from God above,
Could this be my true romance,
’Cause with only her I want to dance.
Then on that faithful day,
Year 2002 and the 3rd of May,
A car appeared and hit her side,
While I was there she quickly died.
But...
It’s better to have loved and lost,
Then never to have loved at all,
It’s better to have loved and lost,
I just wish I didn’t see her fall,
My life was broken my wife dead,
I remember the last thing I did was kiss her on the head,
And now I know she’s up above,
My meaning of life my only love.
Months down the track I was still upset,
My life was broken, I was in debt,
I just wanted to turn back time,
And get back my wife who was so fine.
But...
It’s better to have loved and lost,
Then never to have loved at all,
It’s better to have loved and lost,
I just wish I didn’t see her fall.
Soon then my life is back,
Only it’s years down the track,
I have a new wife and children three,
My life is how it’s ment to be.
Still sometimes a tear hits my eye,
When I remember my wife who died,
My first wife my first romance,
But I know in heaven we shall soon dance.

I barely got start then stumbled and fell ... the very first line I think you have two words reversed; "there was this woman I that loved" ... I think you mean that I loved?

Sad yet beautiful..
Wow.. This was very sad,and it almost brought tears to me eyes. I know how it feels to have lost someone that was very dear. I loved how it was written though, the words used, everything about it. And most o all, I love the way you ended the poem..With hope.. "But I know in heaven we shall soon dance" Nice work!
