I stand alone, I give myself to you
These days, its all I have to give
Its the only way that I can say with truth
Of so many years of yearning
Time is wasting
Time is chasing me
Back to the place where I belong
Back to the home where I came from
Not only words, a tangle in my mind
For you to take with you forever
Its not much to help, to get us through tonight
Could I be wrong, does this really matter
I pray that you will see me as I am
A simple man, I hope you understand
Take me now I'm yours, hold me in your arms
Take me now or never
These times are changing
But time is taking me
Back to the place where I belong
Back to the home where I come from

Awww Tom this is so moving!
What a lovely emotive poem or song perhaps? Your words are heart rending and so touching not to mention straight from the heart with the beauty of telling it straight simplicity, delivering a message that for sure would never be misunderstood in this.
You have penned on the journey back into a world you once knew and lost into what you have known of late, the reminiscence strong here and reflective.
Brilliant penning and so empathic of others going through the same as they stop to take stock of where they are at and what once was before the now!
Great on rhyme and flow too!
Well done! Love it, Write on, Bravo!
Best of luck in any contests with this, hope you win Gold.
Poetic Hugs,
Kaz.

Oh Kaz, thanks for your kind comments.
Well maybe a look over your shoulder once and a while reminds you of how far you've gone down the road, the right one or the wrong one.
Yep, another song, got music to go with it too !!
