Applications and resumes -
but no job;
think I've figured out
my problem now:
instead of saying 'lost last
job because of back injury,'
I need to say I 'left to
finish university studies.'
All things packed at
Trish and Mark's apartment,
but the papers and the
final closing hasn't gone through -
all our prayers are left
u n a s w e r e d
and Trish at 6 months pregnant
is hysterical.
I would be too, in her condition,
with the apartment lease up
in 5 days without a house
to move into...
And then there's Will -
Spanish is not his thing.
I've tutored him, but cannot
compensate for idiot teachers'
demands on orations without
book, notes, guide, or dictionary.
What the hell are they thinking
in first year Spanish, anyway?!
Breaking up with my boyfriend
this past July, and watching
my sister with all she's
going through has right put me off
marriage - I think I'll just stay
single, and raise scotties.
Don't know what's going on
up above; or the mysterious visitors
that we've been getting, what
signs they bring...whose ghosts
are these anyway?
But no answer to our prayers...
No answer...
Yet I keep trying;
Is anybody there?

I wonder as I wander through life...

A raw and honest portrayal of the troubles that have been assailing you. The angry and almost hopeless tone of the piece communicates well how these struggles are affecting you. Thanks so much for entering my contest!
