of this moment,
captured
in black and white.
The words still caught
upon your lips and
your hand was
wrapped in mine.
I carry a photograph
of us in my mind and
I find I caress it in times
of great worry
[which feels like always]
I can see your eyes,
filling with tears and
goodbye
stinging my ears
and I boarded a plane,
the cold air of abandon
at my back.
I returned home,
clutching a sweaty momento
of my time
possessed
within a blink of eternity.
Stolen and hidden
within film
and imprinted on my
forever.

Wow...
Where did you go? What did you do? Why did you leave???
Anyway, it's a great representation of loneliness..
I'm a big lover of photographs and I think with this piece you captured a verbal photograph very well..
I can see everything. -
It astounds me that you don't have more trophies than you do. Everytime I read one of your entries it makes me think "This is a gold medal for sure!". But then again, I guess I am a bit biased.
I like to think I know exactly what photo prompted or maybe sparked this piece. Clever and witty, painful and beautiful. This one makes me smile but makes me miss you more. You have a great gift for words and illusion. Never stop writing.

wow...this is a very nice and emotional poem. My favourite bit is
A still frame
of this moment,
captured
in black and white.
The words still caught
upon your lips and
your hand was
wrapped in mine.
This is just great! good luck in the contest!!!
