I've did my bit for society
even though it's cost me anxiety.
A braver pup you'll never see
yet, I still maintain my dignity.
Yes, only one eye left to view
but, my pride I keep and renew.
I'm braver than some two-legged folk
the egg's been broken, but not the yolk.
You may salute me, yep, I don't mind.
I'm a dog with honors-the exalted kind.
I'm man's best friend and woman too
the proofs been seen in what I do.
Have you given up a leg for your country yet?
That's what I thought, but I'm still a pet.
I don't quite rightly understand the ways of men
but, I happily accept that they call me friend.

Very cute and a great compliment to a pet. They are so unappreciated for what they can do.
