To focus love is vanity,
"Though a man give all he has for it,
it would be despised."
The focus of love is sanity,
much more than we surmised.
I would and willed to love one day,
despised, I turned and walked away.
The focus of love is sanity,
how then does it kill?
Love loosed without restraint,
this is the fly, the one to taint;
the ointment, oil of life and health,
love in control is all of wealth.
I would and willed to love one day,
out of control, love ran away.
The focus of love is sanity,
much more than I surmised.
Volatile this, the ancient bliss
of love in life, the lovers kiss;
instantly it can destroy,
or distill man from wanting boy.
Woman, mark your courses well,
love under will, for time will tell;
for all of life is vanity
if love is lost for sanity.
Thinking men will never fly,
loveless they, so they don't cry;
no hope of love to find in thought,
for love is found where souls are bought.
And what then have I purchased here,
If love should only bring me fear?
The answer isn't quite as clear
as the purchase price of one so dear.
Author notes
Half the world, from what I have encountered of it, has no idea what love even is, much less how to handle it. "Do as you will" as each person clings to what they believe truth to be.
