The rose has wilted long ago,
The rain drops, fall like summer's dew
You've broken my heart three times in a row.
My soul weeps forever because of you
The pain stings my soul like roses' thorns...
The rose has wilted long ago.
What's left of this silly love story
Is this golden ring around my finger,
Like a cursed albatross, it encircles me
Flying against the windy skies, it lingers,
Like a gilded phantom upon my jilted hand;
I shall never be able to look into your eyes
For I find your mistress there;
Now I look into your lies
And find harsh reality with each cold stare.
I once burned for you with a flaming passion,
Now my soul freezes in contempt and disgust;
You bought her pearls and lace that were in fashion
Your body burned for her in lust
The rose has wilted long ago
I Will not wallow in self-pity
I shall lift up mine eyes of sorrow
And nurture my broken heart till it is happy
Your hair will fall out, You, too will feel the pain
Soon your withered youth will leave you, too
As you have left me broken-hearted in the rain
A wilted rose lying in a puddle of summer's dew;
You are not welcome here any longer
You thought that I will simply wither and die
Yet my heart is healing and growing stronger
Now, my dear...I bid you a sad goodbye.
I bet you never knew that a rose could fly.
