I remember delicate breezes of summer wind,
skipping through fields of flowers.
I remember you and I walking hand in hand,
friendship blooming to love.
I remember looking deep into your green eyes,
wanting time to slow down.
I remember wishing that I could somehow stay,
being so close to you in your arms.
I remember music, movies and being alone with you,
laying sweetly under the sun.
I remember sweet pancakes drenched in maple syrup,
joking around with you.
I remember being happy as I could ever be.
I remember dragonflies and butterflies.
thinking I'd never capture you.
I remember my heartbreak as I got on the plane,
thinking it'd never be the same.
I remember every tear rolling down my face,
the sweet and salty taste.
I remember feeling so alive because of you,
making all my wishes coming true.
I remember learning how to truly love someone...

i enjoyed this poem...the repetition at first was
a little annoying but.....but......the lines kept
getting richer and revealing..pulling us in...with
sweet tastes of pancakes drenched in syrup.....and
the salt of tears rolling down your face.....
ending us with the beautiful imagery of how wonderous
it is to be captured by love!
well done!
