Lightning streaks across the torn skies
Illuminating a figure
Standing -
Leaning!
Leaning against the edge of my lair.
A soft hissss resounds throught the cave:
Her hair -
The snakes! -
Hissing at me:
Hissing at me, in my domain.
The image wavers,
now a woman.
Blonde hair trails down her back
Her lips close in a slight smile.
But her eyes -
Her eyes! Deep pools of sea blue!
Aqua and gold blazing from her pupil.
Her eyes are the same:
The pupil, so black and cold.
Stone eyes.
I look away.
Cast away your false diguise!
I breath.
And as I breath
the lightning flashes -
Flashes!
Illuminating the figure
Standing -
Leaning!
Leaning against the edge of my lair.
The snakes -
Her snakes! -
Hissing
Hissing at me, in my domain.
And she pleads,
her voice one of soft bells
But the snakes -
Her snakes! -
Still hiss.
And her eyes -
Her eyes! Deep pools of sea blue!
Aqua and gold blazing from her pupil.
The pupil, so black and cold.
Her eyes are the same:
Stone eyes.
I look away.
And my powers of water sweep over the lip of my cave
And now the figure -
Medusa!
The figure resides in the sea,
Protected by the water -
Imprisoned by the water -
Hidden by the water.
And her eyes -
Her eyes! Deep pools of sea blue!
Aqua and gold blazing from her pupil.
The pupil, so black and cold.
Her eyes are the same:
Stone eyes.
Illuminating a figure

well done...you survived well....the wisdom of your
plight revealed your true courage thru ink and sword!
Wise to use the water of your gifts to
stun Medusa unable to charm your stare into
death of stone!
well done!
