I am a flowing wave in the river of life
the currents pull at me moving me along
I see you standing in the distance
but the water's wish is my command.
I roll along the waters surface
looking for a place to call home
I cannot for there is not a single
piece of land for me to wash upon.
I've flowed so far with this river
that I can no longer see you, love
I pray that somehow, some way
The river's current will lead me back someday.

I love your take on this prompt. It was very creative and imaginative.
I roll along the waters surface
looking for a place to call home
I cannot for there is not a single
piece of land for me to wash upon.
