Slobberknocker

I come off the edge,
off a 238 counter,
spot the enemy color.
Bam!  He flys off his feet, and snot comes out my nose.
Slobberknocker!

Author notes

I dont know how many of you play football but if you do you know what it is like to hit someone so hard that their shoulders hit the ground before their feet and snot comes out your nose, Where I play that is called a slobberknocker and it was the first thing I thought about when I read the prompt so there you go.

Oh my this made me giggle.

I could imagine that happening, I think for me football would be so entertaining. I'd feel sorry for the guy it happened to though.
    Good poem.

I can't say I have seen this happen but it is quite a thought and short piece. Best to your fine Bandit

I absolutely love watching football, but have not played it. And yes, I have seen this snot-flying moment and it makes me cringe, because I know that the player was power slammed and violently stopped short of any yard gain. "Holy Shit" is the first phrase to come out of my mouth when I see this happen! You did a wonderful job enacting the play and enabling us readers to see the imagery of how it is done. Great take on the prompt and good luck in the contest!
