What is not!

To be anywhere but here does bring a thought
of just, "What really is and ...What is not!"
The stars above seem to always light the way
shaping a begining for the brand new day

Endless matter tends to scatter across the sky
leaving only the questions of ~how and why?
They're far from our reach with no way out
shooting over the skies as you start to count

Another shimmering twinkle burns the past
showing certainty that nothing shall ever last
To be anywhere but here lingers on my mind
yet 'Like the star, right here's one of a kind!

I often sit and gaze at the stars
    always questioning things
and I would almost bet most people can relate to doing exactly this.

you have captured it so well
    thankyou

    Wonderful Write!!

Beautiful and thoughtful poetry my friend. Your imagery had me gazing at the stars in deep thought. Stars have a special meaning in my life. Hope all is well with you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

    Blessings to you,

    Hugs and Smiles,
    Sandy

    woven magically to reveal
how small we feel...in such a vast universe and world.
it's constant whisper.... to our hearts to conquer and explore...heights and depths unknown..adventures to
    behold.

    How I wander the wonders

It seems to me you ponder upon the question that desires the answer, yet the answer we shall never know for in it lies the truth and the truth my friend mankind cannot handle.

We are all about machinations and destruction for what is man but a beast lest he think and aspire to rise into the stars, you mind friend have raised your eyes and pondered what does this life really mean and for that I must commend you greatly.

I like it, I like it so!

This is a beautifully constructed poem. The rhyme is as lovely as the thought process. Just one thing. certainty is spelt wrong in the final stanza. Best to you fine poet

This is a well posed thinker. To me that is the essence of poetry. Words well written that causes one to think. This answers all those criteria.

Well, I read this and it's great but I guess I didn't really get it because it's in the adult category ... what did I miss? I am always amazed though of stars being long dead but us so far away that we still see the light. Amazing.
